Revisional Surgery for a Subtalar Joint Non-Union

This patient presented with chronic pain. The initial injury was treated elswhere with a subtalar joint arthrodesis after a calcaneal fracture. The initial surgery resulted in a "Non Union". This was re-attempted by 2 other surgeons with failure again resulting in a chronic painful Subtalar joint "Non-Union". Dr. Saraydarian performed her 4th surgery which employed a dynamic external fixation construct and implantable Bone stimulation as well as orthobiologics. After 6 weeks, the fixation was removed and healing was achieved. The patient is now in a pain free state after years of morbidity.
